Tank Davis’ fights been advertised as a “”””world”””” title bout, but he’s still treated as a contender and is still learning instead of taking the big fights is some of the contradictory shit I’ve seen
In Stevenson's last bout there were many people saying he was a prospect. I had to remind them that Stevenson is no prospect due to being a unified champ. I also said he was fighting ten round fights. I also mentioned him fighting in front of over 10k people. Finally, if it's the number of fights, then Usyk, Beterbiev, Bivol, Loma and a few others that are n P4P lists are prospects, because only one of them has 20 fights (Usyk) and they are all within that range. The response? Downvotes and dummies arguing that he is a prospect without making a logical argument.
So here is my take. Once you beat a top 10 guy you are a contender. Once you start fighting 10 round fights you're no longer a prospect. But calling a champ a prospect has to be one of THE most disrespectful things a so called fan can do.
if shakur started his career at 135 and beat all the champs and top contenders there people wouldn’t think he’s a prospect he’d have everyone calling him p4p number 1. it’s just because people aren’t familiar with 130 and how good valdez and conceicao are
So because you didn't see it that means it didn't happen? I'm just making it up and typed out the points I made out of thin air?
Here you go.

And then I had some dummy jumping in my business (kinda like how you are now) making a fool of himself. You can read that here:

But yeah, multiple times that night (spread across the main three threads) the statement about him being a prospect was made.
Edit: This is from a thread made after the Valdez fight.

One redditor that was dumb enough to call Shakur a prospect in two comments out of 332 in that thread.
The second link, the redditor you think you schooled never even called Shakur a prospect.
Also why comment if you don't wanna people to reply. Might as well write this drivel in a notebook and keep it to yourself.

When you're in contention for belts, I think that makes you a contender, regardless of age.
When a prospect beats a solid gatekeeper
Came here to say that
Nobody is calling Davis a prospect, are they?
Al Haymon, Ellerbe and Mayweather definitely treat him like one 😂
Some people still do its so weird. Albeit very few people.
Yes, they are.

I definitely agree with this. Same case with guys like Munguia, Zurdo and Benavidez during their title runs.
When they beat contenders, ex champs that are not completely washed up. Boots became a contender when he beat Lipinets.
Good example

A prospect becomes a contenders when they beat a contender
If they then go to lesser opponents, does that make them not a contender? It's pretty common for this to happen to newly found ''contenders''.
Only way to climb the ratings ladder is to step on the rungs above you
Beat some one in the top 10
