Steering wheel creasing? Anyone know how to remove/fix this without buying a new wheel lol. Has been like this since the previous owner and it’s driving me nuts. Any ideas/tips will be great. Thanks.

The M sport steering wheel needs its own subreddit its such a pita to keep clean and good looking

Chrisfix soapy water does the trick!!! Apply with a soft toothbrush and wipe clean with a micro fibre cloth!

Ausipa

You know the more I look into the picture they look like cracks.

davinciSL72

I took mine off, sanded the leather, and then dyed it. It came out fantastic and was very easy. Ton of posts about it on Bimmerpost from people who have done the same; cost about 20 dollars and was fun to do.

That might be from a scratch which may have then nicked/cracked the leather. I hit my watch band on my steering wheel and it left a mark like that. It kinda self healed but did use leather conditioner to help it. Have you tried that yet?

Ausipa

Not yet. Do you got any suggestion on what product to use? I got red seat I would like to clean/condition also

CandleCheap

I have the Coral Red with the Glacier Silver and the 403 rims. Your taillights look better than my LCIs. I like Griot's products. Their 3-in-1 leather cleaner is good for daily cleaning. The leather rejuvenator is a thicker product that hydrates dried, weathered leather. Chemical guys makes good stuff too.

Ausipa

Thanks for the response, compliments, and suggestions. Will definitely check them out.

Just get a wheel cover. There’s a lot for msport steering wheels and they look good.

Ausipa

Like a sue on?

saltylmakids

Yup. They look good too. $70 and probably 2 hours to sew it on.

Ausipa

If you can send me the link to a good one that would be awesome. Thanks for the idea. Definitely a thought.

Nice! How long it take you to sew it on? Planning to get mine soon but I’m not sure how it’ll turn out. I never sewed anything in my 21 year of existence. You cut the part on the bottom of your steering wheel where the m logo is right? Do you have heated steering wheel if so does it still bring in heat?

Ausipa

So you want to take off your steering wheel, then take off all the plastic pieces. It’s easier than you think. Then you sue it through the preexisting loops skipping a loop every time. There isn’t any actual hole punching. Just looping through loops. Took me around 30 mins. The plastic pieces then snap over the wrap after for a very clean look. I plan on getting replacement red paddle shifters

Ausipa

That is dope. With the marker line also. I got a red interior so I might get the red one. Suede also. Sweet!

moezbored

not sure if this helps but i’m in Ca and fix leather like wear and tear by repainting it and stuff. if ur in Norcal i can help you out !!

burneronburner

My best tip, stop chewing it. Don’t be ashamed I suffer from the same thing.

Ausipa

Someone gave me a good idea of doing a steering wheel cover. The ones you sue on, then you can get a different look out of it as well.

burneronburner

Yeah I dont have a F30 but I have an E46 with the m tech wheel and it looks like I got fucking HUNGRY while driving. I thought about those, seems simple enough, but its not a cover its a full replacement for the leather or alcantara. I heard its a good fix never done it myself tho, might actually get on that soon.

Ausipa

Seems it just covers over OEM leather and stitches tight. Looks nice and easy from what I have seen. Relatively affordable and something you could easily replace if ever needed to again.

burneronburner

Yeah its either $200-$500 on a new wheel or that, the ones ive seen are full replacements tho, I need a full replacement in all honesty tho.
