Techster17

Yo was that 2 whole ass Celestials hanging out in Olympus

Matapple13

That’s actually not Olympus, that’s the Omnipotence City.

Techster17

Oh shit they're doing that, hope we just have 10 minutes of Thor and Co meeting a bunch of weird looking gods of different species

SacreFor3

There was a painting at a display showing all the costumes for the film that not only depicted Celestials, but The Great Protector from Shang-Chi among many of the other deities we've found out about this phase. There looked to even be a Mayan god too.

jcj44

do you have any pictures or a link?

Kingpin1232

That’s Arishem.

SpiritMountain

>There looked to even be a Mayan god too. Some indication of Namor maybe?

SacreFor3

Oh most definitely since we know he and Atlantis are coming.

iz92ab

I swear one looked like the Celestial we saw on Guardians of the Galaxy

metros96

These Celestials seem so little, little infant Celestials EDIT: the other thing is that, are they just going to make it canon for the MCU that the Celestials also wear armor? I know the look in the trailer here is a bit more comic accurate, but I thought making them more naturalistic was a smart and elegant change for the MCU. I don’t mind the slightly more tech look that we see here, it stills looks cool, but I hope it’s just armor and that they are still rocky boys underneath

GipsyPepox

Can't they like change their size however they like?

metros96

I suppose someone, maybe like a VFX vendor, said something about that they initially had a version of the Arishem exposition scene where he was going to shrink down and talk with Sersi, right ? So I guess it’s a possibility but obviously it’s not yet canon on screen

MrCraftLP

Celestials are just energy with a physical form, so they can probably choose their own form separately.

metros96

I suppose, but we see how they are birthed in this universe, literally rising out from the molten rock. Which is part of why Arishem and Tiamut look the way they do, like big rocky boys

greppoboy

I think that in the mcu the celestials will be of various type and it depends on where they are born, some are tech like, some stone like, some more organic (nowhere)

IsolatedHammer

I suppose if a Celestial is birthed from a planet that has enough of a composition of metal instead of rock, that might be how that happens?

metros96

I wouldn’t be against something like this, like “yada yada this is soft sci-fi and the interiors of some of these planets can consist of liquified metals and somehow support intelligent life on the surface and so it was good enough for Arishem to planet a Celestial seed here and when it rose to the surface it just gets coated in the planet’s metal” That would work for me, and certainly better than “oh well some Celestials just look different”

hmd_ch

I really think this and the Eternal circle patterns around Zeus's throne confirm that the MCU Olympians are also Eternals.

ReadNew4792

It doesnt confirm anything yet, and making olympians eternals is just confusing, not to mention that we see other deities in that room, including bast, and she defenitly isnt an eternal

[deleted]

hmd_ch

I'm pretty sure the movie was implying that the myths of the Olympians were based off Sprite's stories in the past. I mean they pretty much confirmed that Thena is the MCU's actual Athena. Not to mention that in an interview with Feige about a year or two before the Eternals came out, he straight up said that they want to honor Jack Kirby's original vision of combining the Eternals with the Olympian pantheon.

zoras99

One does not invalidate the other. Zeus, Hades, Hestia, Demeter, Hera and Poseidon (et al) could be real in the same way Thor and Loki are real. While Ephestus and Athena came from Sprite stories. That way you have a cop out for honoring Kirby wanting the Eternals to be the origin of (some) mythology while keeping the different pantheons of earth a real thing.

ReadNew4792

That doesnt mean anything yet, unless you have seen the movie there is zero indication they are related

just4browse

They look so different in this movie. Much smaller, more armor-like

sephelutis

Yeah wtf was that about!?

Leo_TheLurker

casual celestial cameo

schrodingersdemet

They need to stop releasing new clips now because i have ZERO self-control.

[deleted]

I can relate 😂

Whole_Imagination513

I see Thor is a fan of the Van Damme splits

hamsmacaroni

handshake to remember Loki😂

Fabio0dinson

Holy shit Celestials

magikarpcatcher

I really missed "Sweet Child of Mine" being absent from the last TV spot. /s

soontwobee

We'll get fur Elise next time, okay doctor morbius?

tswaves

Morbin time indeed

ICrazyDiamondI

Would be so crazy cool if Gorr kills a Celestial

FN-1701AgentGodzilla

Maybe it’s that planet thing he stabbed into

dunmer-is-stinky

In the comics, that's what the Necrosword was originally made for. I know the Necrosword is gonna be super different here, but maybe his darkness powers have a sort of similar origin? I doubt they'll bring Knull in since Sony's doing their thing, but if they could keep some of the details it could be cool

sameoldrussianstan

First movie in a while with a final/second/third trailer

007Kryptonian

It’s only had the first teaser and the official trailer. Everything else has been tv spots.

sameoldrussianstan

Yeah and now this final trailer, which is one more trailer than MoM iirc, since both have had tv spots

TheRealMattyPanda

This is just another TV spot.

sameoldrussianstan

Oh, ok! I guess it being like a minute and a half just tricked me lol

TypeExpert

It look like there hiding cancer/skinny jane like how did hid fat Thor from all the endgame marketing I respect it.

aurcel

is this not practically a 3rd trailer

HatalamtheNoble

Thunder thighs

LatterTarget7

Does groot look weird/off to anyone else?

Just_Another_Frodo

Yes the shading seemed weird. Don't know if it's just the lighting and coloring of the scene or what.

LatterTarget7

Yeah maybe it’s the colouring or something. But he looks like unfinished. Compared to his previous appearance in endgame

ey3s0re_christ

Solid Van Damme and Norris reference🤣🤣🤣

PotatoBulletGun

I'm not sure if its been posted here but, has this movie been leaked here already?

FitRelationship5380

If you're talking about a full plot synopsis, then no. That might change soon tho since the premiere is tonight

PotatoBulletGun

yes, that one exactly. I guess I'm amazed that w/only 2 weeks left, the full synopsis isnt here yet

soontwobee

Yeah we all saw it last week, Channing Tatum plays gambit

Landon1195

Celestials!

GuguMarcos

"The snake you cannot trust"... Sounds like a secret childhood handshake between him and Loki, if you ask me. EDIT: typo.

dunmer-is-stinky

well, you know he loves snakes

Giorgiman2003

Woah didn't expect to see the Celestials For those who were curious as to why Taika was in the Eternals premiere, your question has been answered

ReadNew4792

Im pretty sure directors and actors of the mcu attend premiers of other mcu movies even if they dont have anything to do with it

xFearful425

Ya know, Thursday literally means Thor's day in Old English.

dunmer-is-stinky

that's the joke

superyoshiom

Taika's the only one working in the MCU who seems to respect how strong Thor is supposed to be, hope we see some great stuff from him this movie.

UnbuiltIkeaBookcase

Thor moving the gears in Infinity War to get STORMBREAKER forged?

CommunistHermitCrab

Two fucking Celestials, that's great to see

IrishGrouch24

I know thag VFX teams as a whole are still dealing with the impacts from Covid, but man I really do not like the StageCraft LED tech. Seems great for TV shows (Mando used it to perfection) but it’s so brazenly obvious in basically every trailer so far.

No_Passenger_1022

Maybe its just me but each of the sets feel like sets rather than "location" on film, if you get what i mean. Like thats what taika was going for. That level of self awareness

garokkadane

Is that nidavellir in its prime again when the two celestials appear?

dunmer-is-stinky

looks like the entrance to Omnipotence City

CaptainFunktastic

Wow. Thor is really tapping into his inner Jack Sparrow here.

samjhreporting

Social media embargo drops tonight

jdyake

Kevin Feige somewhere: FOR FUCK SAKE

UnbuiltIkeaBookcase

This is random but for some reason it genuinely warms my heart hearing Rocket’s voice again

Francis_McBasketball

I really want this to be good but the more I see, the more nervous I get

CJFilkovski

Way too many new shots. What’s with these third trailers and so many TV spots. They are spoiling 2nd movie in a row.

aaliyaahson

They release TV spots for literally every movie. Its not a new thing

CJFilkovski

They weren’t so spoilery earlier.

aaliyaahson

Whats being spoiled here?

SeasonGullible616

Yeah i mean, they really didnt give away a lot in this. its only a minute and a half of a 2 hour movie.

regmckie

These don't seem to be showing *too* much though. Like, MoM showed way too much, but I feel like for the vast majority of these TV spots, they've mostly been showing the same scenes or different shots from the same scenes.

AquaBlueMagic

Is it just me or has Marvel’s green screens gotten worse…

jcj44

Wasn’t this one filmed mostly with the Volume like the Mandalorian? It could be that difference that’s standing out

MoonMan997

The use of the Volume in The Batman in comparison to its use in most Disney properties *cough* Kenobi *cough* is night and day. I know it was used more out of necessity by Reeves and crew but I think they understood how to utilise the tech in tighter locations with busier background environments. It’s so dissonant seeing an empty wide look so confined, like being inside a snowglobe mid-shake. They’re becoming dangerously reliant on the tech already imo.

FlyingFlyofHell

Reeves only used them in Night or Far background shots like the one on where Batman has his signal Torch. If You Use Volume for Bright shots it's looks pretty fake and in Obiwan, Bobba Fett you can actually see how bad it can be.

MoonMan997

It was used for all (or at least most of) the construction site scenes where the bat signal was situated and looked pretty damn good to me. I don’t think you would notice if you didn’t have prior knowledge of it.

DannyR2713

If you want to talk about bad green screen check out Umbrella Academy season 3

noaaaaah16

That marcus shot at the rooftop of episode 1 was bad

del3td

lol was thinking exactly that while watching the first ep

FN-1701AgentGodzilla

Been that way for the past 6 years. Started with Civil War imo.

FlyingFlyofHell

That's because it's The Volume. it's Cheaper than Green screen as you don't actually have to do VFX for Backgrounds as they put Big LED screens instead green cover. But it looks not that great. Even in SW shows you can see The Volume effects were bad. I don't know why Marvel went for it? They were already getting Tax reliefs from Australian government for shooting there.

Sckathian

Honestly the effects look even worse here. Most films tend to have some green screen 3D objects these days to add life to a scene but literally everything here looks like its filmed on a flat sound stage. Literally everything looks like its in the foreground and flat rather than an actual place the characters are walking in.

soontwobee

Maybe it's a metaphor?
