Like with TLOU show, regardless if it's good I just have no desire to watch it. You can say that's unfair but my opinion of both has been soured too much and I just don't care. You can enjoy them, but I still don't care.
Same. I’m not really a D&D guy, and if I’m being honest, I think this film has been marketed rather poorly. The trailer makes it look like the same drivel Hollywood’s been peddling. Now, the movie may actually be good, and it may be just the trailer that’s bad, but I don’t feel like spending the money to find out.
Trailers are always bad for big movies.... however I'm hesitant to watch a movie with Chris Pine as while he's fine at acting... the movies he's in are often kinda shit.
It's like how Charles Danse pops up in terrible films and flexs his acting chops.
I saw it at an investor sneak peek and really enjoyed it. I was adamant about not paying for it because of the things I had heard, but it turned out to be very good and I'm actually going to go see it again this weekend.
I went to see it on the 26th (early viewing) and I went with a few of my players (I am the DM) and i give it a solid 9. Loved it. It wasn't to complex, felt like a nice mid level one shot. The movie was very aware of what they actually are adapting, as a DnD nerd I recognized spells, abilities feat that even if they aren't explained in the movie, I don't think a non-DnD fan will have any problems understanding what's going on (the magic system in DnD is by far the most restrictive compared to most others). If they make another one, I will be in the cinema for sure. It has my DM seal of recommendation.
Thanks for the feedback, glad to hear it won't confuse me because I'm not a D&D enthusiast at all. I really only have a handful of casual sessions under my belt.
I don’t care if it’s good or not but my interest is dead especially after all the bs WOTC have been doing in recent years. I’m completely checked out from D&D
imo only the last third is good, the rest is generic and poorly written. Mostly to do with how things are set up and executed. There are clever moments and some satisfying action, but the rest is frustrating writing wise if you think about it longer than a few seconds. The third act had this problem the least, and had some cool sequences, so it redeemed the film from being completely forgettable.
That's my experience, your mileage may vary. If you just want to watch some entertaining action then its worth sticking to the end, otherwise its a bit disposable.
As a full on dnd fan, I refuse to watch the movie. Their company has done some horrid shit to their customers recently and watching their movie would violate the ,"wotc will never get another penny from me" promise.
That's the only word I can think that fits this guy with the glasses who opens his mouth and stupid opinions flow out. I like Shad but when he tries to criticize media he is only a little better than Ben Sapiro.
It definitely helps to give examples when criticizing. Just my input on the matter.
Giving the info on which video and what topic / what claim someone made and why it doesn't make sense helps, while just saying that "this guy with glasses and stupid opinions"
Defining the issues you take with someone or something always helps others to understand your criticism.
Even if it takes a couple of paragraphs, it's worth it to have made a clear argument.
It saves times since somebody inevitably will ask "What stupid opinions?" and an example needs to be given regardless.
I have no horse in this race, just hoping to give some advice.
Did you consider that I don't want to go back and rewatch a few hours of the Knights Watch to point exactly where Shad and the other guys in his stream said dumb or simply incorrect things about shows? I stopped watching them months ago after getting tired of face palming a few dozen times every episode. It was generally normie takes and opinions that show they are not well informed on what they were talking about. (Praise of the Boys, Filoni's Tales of Jedi etc) It was funnier at the start when he had this blackpilled guy who wasn't holding back.
You're free to not want to go watch it, but I'm just saying that not having specifics on what the issue you have with Shad or his mates takes on a piece of media doesn't help in making the rest of us understand your criticism.
As a side note, I also don't entirely understand what you mean by "normie takes" or "blackpilled"
I can't really agree or disagree since I don't know what the arguments they made were. I'm somewhat familiar with The Boys, but there's good and bad in the show so it depends what they're praising and if they misunderstood something (?)
I explained myself as simply as possible. You threw the "don't like it don't watch it card at me". Motherfucker, I was watching them because I like Shad and I stopped because I didn't like the show. Is this so hard of a concept to understand? Also, congratulations, you used the drone argument. It is insane how people transform into the same idiots when they don't want to hear that something they like is criticized. Finally, throwing single words of comment back at me when you seem to fail to understand the context means you either don't pay any atention when reading the comments you reply at, you don't understand what you are reading or you are engaging dishonestly.
There's an entire EFAP about the Boys season 2. Go watch that and you will understand why their take (and yours) about the Boys is stupid. I am not going to explain to you why a show that died of a thousand cuts is now shit.
I was trying my best to avoid the whole slinging insults thing, being as polite as I can and trying to explain myself and my thoughts coherently.
I was just trying to ask what you mean when you say "normie takes" or "blackpilled" because I don't get what you mean. The whole "pill" thing that people go on about is something I have never heard anyone explain well or in a way that doesn't contradict itself.
You don't have to resort to calling me a "motherfucker" a "drone" or implying that I'm an "idiot who doesn't want to hear something they like being criticized"
I don't care strongly about Shad, or the Boys, or the Dungeons and Dragons movie, I was just trying to talk to you and get your full thoughts and criticisms where others were keen to just dismiss or downvote you outright without asking your reasons.
Apparently that was a mistake .
Try not being a moody sunnva and explaining yourself beyond vague commentary with no details then maybe people will understand what your grievances are.

I haven't watched TLOU either. Nothing wrong with just not being interested lol.
No matter how good this movie is I can just wait till digital. I just don’t care at all.

Hmm, good to hear. I'm skeptical but I was already thinking about seeing it, even just for the dumb fun element.
Seeing it on Saturday with friends. Kinda excited, if it's a welcome surprise!

Would a 1st ed. Greyhawk player be able to enjoy it? Or is it solidly for the 5th ed fans?

I have not seen this movie, not really interested tbh.

The opinion of Shad and his minons on entertainment is completely useless.
Minions? Lmao k

I think that's a little harsh, though I don't value his input as much as some other vocal internet humans but I wouldn't say he's awful.
For some reason any criticisim towards Shad is triggering some people. Even when he is criticized for something he is bad at.

Oh no, shad's got a normie take. Wow...real front page news there, pal. You really broke the internet there.
