For sure. I will deal with the filler episodes of clone wars because the payoff in the last 4 episodes is phenomenal. I'm OK with Boba being subpar because Mando has been incredible.
These 4 have produced the best things star wars has to offer (on screen), so we should be more forgiving of their missteps until it becomes a pattern
How does Tony Gilroy get more credit than Gareth Edwards? Just because Gareth pissed off Kathleen Kennedy his name can never be mentioned again? You know he was actually the director of the best Disney Star Wars film whether Kennedy likes him or not.
I agree that Edwards deserves more credit than he gets because the meat and potatoes of Rogue One was all him. I'm curious what his third act actually was. I think instead of the Vader hallway scene (GOAT scene honestly), we were supposed to get Vader going hard on the beach? I think i read that at some point
But Gilroy is solely responsible for Andor so I get why he is on the meme over Edwards
I love Andor but we wouldn’t have it without Edwards. Gilroy didn’t even get top writing credit for Rogue, he just ran with someone else’s idea. IMO he’s just getting too much credit and isn’t on par with Lucas or Filoni.
Because Garth Edwards delivered a steaming pile and Tony Gilroy pulled it into something that’s kind of the best Star Wars ever. Giving him the cred to do Andor.
Yes that's right. Star Wars fans have never been mad at George Lucas. They definitely didn't complain about everything he did so hard that he stopped interacting with fans if he could avoid it and ended up selling his rights to the movies and washing his hands of the whole business.
Two of these have jumped the shark and three of them have produced some real stinkers of plot beats, I’d hope we’d have a higher bar for the name of GOAT
You're getting down voted but let's be honest: Book of Boba Fett was a wreck. The middle arc of clone wars season 7 was garbage and rebels, while it had its moments, was meh as a whole.
They are still the best we have at the moment.
Lucas, I think he did the right thing by not making any more stat wars movies. He was willing to let books/games carry the IP and that was the right move.
Selling was a huge mistake that screwed over the community in the long run.
Only 0.5 out of those four dudes deserves it, sorry. I have no opinion on Filoni or the fourth whoever-that-is, but Favreau was barely involved and Lucas only crafted the OT with practical help from his betters.
He didn't direct either, and he only wrote the screenplay for Rogue One, 2/3 of which I didn't care much for and definitely don't remember anything of. Decent action though.
Sorry. Writer of Rogue One and Executive Producer of Andor.
[I'm just going by the Wiki](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tony_Gilroy)
TBF I didn't have a full appreciation for R1 until the ST came out. Rewatched R1 after an ST marathon and holy crap it's like a breath of fresh air.
Why isn’t Ryan Johnson there?????? He tried so hard but everybody hates him 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😢😢😭😭😭😢😭😭 he’s a nice guy I promise and Rose is totally cool and Holdo had a great plan and Leia looked better flying through space and then being the last OT character left alive even though the actor had died.
You guys are just mean for not including him 😡😡😡🥺🥺🥺😢😢😢😭😭😭😭
I know John Williams is a composer but I would say his contribution to the star wars universe is also very significant. He deserves this moniker too.
Star Wars wouldn’t be the same without Williams’ score and influence.
# Korah Matah Korah Rahtahmah!!!
DUNDUN DANADUN
>~~Star Wars~~Movies as a whole wouldn’t be the same without Williams’ score and influence.
I’d recommend listening to Holtz’s Planets it was a prime influence for Williams and it’s cool to hear the inspirational roots of his iconic score.
Literally the one thing we can agree on, the music is good, no, GREAT!
John Williams > Filoni AND Favreau
The one thing Star Wars fans can agree on is that John Williams is the best.
Honestly believe if Williams didn’t come back for the sequels it would have been a bigger deal than Lucas not coming back
Only Gilroy has an unblemished record, the others have some good and some really bad
To be honest, all of them had major screw ups to their names. Tho their good shit outweights their bad shit, unlike any other SW head director.

Who’s the person on the far right?
Tony Gilroy

Gilroy is head and shoulders over the guys in the middle.

Timothy Zahn should be up there instead of Gilroy
Thanks, saved me a comment. Timothy Zahn has done more for the EU than most.
EU and Canon. He has 6 canon Thrawn novels already
LOL. You EU people are hilarious.
And you’re sad. He’s done stuff for canon too dingus
Idk man after BoBF my faith in Filoni and Favraeu had wavered
Seriously. WTF. Asleep at the wheel.
Yes that's right. Star Wars fans have never been mad at George Lucas. They definitely didn't complain about everything he did so hard that he stopped interacting with fans if he could avoid it and ended up selling his rights to the movies and washing his hands of the whole business.
Imma let you finish but Chris Avellone is missing
Preach!
Timothy Zahn had way more impact than Avellone.
Filoni is a very skilled fan fiction writer.
¾ of them make just as much shit as good stuff, if not more
Just need to add in Christopher Lee, then it’ll be perfect.
And Jonh Williams
Irvin Kershner, duh
Fuck off with Favreau and Filoni, and put in Zahn and Williams instead, and we might see eye to eye.
Two of these have jumped the shark and three of them have produced some real stinkers of plot beats, I’d hope we’d have a higher bar for the name of GOAT

Replace favreau with John Williams. After seeing how he butchered the lion king I’ve lost any respect I had for that man
Only 0.5 out of those four dudes deserves it, sorry. I have no opinion on Filoni or the fourth whoever-that-is, but Favreau was barely involved and Lucas only crafted the OT with practical help from his betters.
Fourth guy is Tony Gilroy. Writer/Director of Rogue One and Andor
He didn't direct either, and he only wrote the screenplay for Rogue One, 2/3 of which I didn't care much for and definitely don't remember anything of. Decent action though.

Saying it's better than ST is saying so little it doesn't even register.
Lol can't argue with that
He directed what was released. Only prevented from getting credit by DGA rules. Gareth blew it.
We can't just smash tremendously through that blockade.
Who’s the idiot on the far right?
Tony Gilroy. Writer/Director of Rogue One and Andor
the others have some good
Lawrence Kasdan, John Williams, and Irvin Kershner clear all but George easily.
Only George and possibly Favreau deserve to be there. Others have mentioned Zahn and a few other writers that deserve it more than Filoni or Gilroy.
Why isn’t Ryan Johnson there?????? I don’t see Matthew Stover there.
