Little Big Planet

PepeSylvia11

Great choice! Such a magical, unforgettable game

Vladislav_the_Pale

And one that kept me entertained for years. Creating and sharing custom levels

Unfortunate_Gamer

Killzone 2 on PS3.

defecto

I miss that chirp. The multiplayer level design was one of the best. The weight of each gun could be felt and the death animation was awesome. Couldnt get the same satisfaction from the later games.

Striking-Number8242

Killzone 2’s Platinum Trophy is my proudest trophy to date. I loved the game so much, I just needed to master it.

blackmolly_98

Red dead redemption 2. Also my proudest platinum

nsommers25

Kingdom Hearts 2

BDG-_5

Infamous and infamous 2.

ReddKnight10

Me too :) InFamous 2 is so good

nuclearsmoken

I was about to say. Was I the only one obsessed with infamous

Chudz

Currently playing Infamous 2 for first time on ps3 at the moment.

Jax-Lior

Ugh it was sooooo good. I wish they would just remaster it honestly.

quicksquirrel03

Jak and daxter will forever be number 1

whizwaker

Soo glad to see love for J&D here at the first comment! The Jak Trilogy will always be very close to my heart. I got Jak 1 at 6, Jak II at 7, and Jak 3 at 8. I still go back and replay them from time to time. Personal favorite is Jak II, Jak 1 is a close second though

bgrygp12789

Jak 2 is probably my all time favorite game honestly, may be the nostalgic aspect of it

DrDaddyDom

Uncharted for me

oooooooounbelievable

Which ones your favorite? I had a great time with all of them but 4 was an incredible experience for me

DrDaddyDom

4 was incredible graphic and longer due to latest one But my personal favourite is Uncharted 2:Among thieves

RocketLeagueLife

I’ve never been so obsessed with a multiplayer ever in my life before uncharted 2. I was legit hooked for years

arothmanmusic

SO much of my time spent in that. And also in Uncharted 3 multiplayer. It was perfect. Easy to pick up, good variety, very little bullshit, and lots of fun. I really miss the UC2 co-op missions... we spent so many late nights doing 3-man attacks on the monastery and the village...

xXCOCKHEROXx

I've always enjoyed the Ratchet & Clank games.

smoothbaseline

My Dawg!

ValkorTahoe

Ico

Apprehensive_Lynx_33

Breath of Fire 3 on ps1 😀 such an amazing game, especially for the time. It has such a long and complex story and puzzles that still stump me when I replay occasionally!

Thefinalwerd

Wow I never hear love for this game. If we ever needed a remake this is it.

fletchdeezle

Phenomenal game

Lobinhu

Bloodborne. I don't even blink thinking on this question.

AntaresDaha

This used to be a super difficult question, that I always had to come up with specific qualifiers for ("best competitive game", "best single player", "best...") for the first 30 years of my life, but Bloodborne really solved that issue, best video game handsdown. Sure WoW was an experience (almost lifestyle) that's still incomparable to anything before and after and sure Heroes of Newerth or Rocket League scratch a wholly different itch, but best video game of all time? Bloodborne, don't even have to think about it anymore that's the definite go-to answer for me, all the other games I named require some qualifier, but as long as BB is one of the choices, it's THE choice.

Regardingnothing

I've never played a Dark Souls game, would it be okay to start with Bloodborne?

turtlesandtrash

yes

irishbadger

Absolutely. Bloodborne was my first introduction to From games and it is my favorite game of all time. I have now played and beaten every Souls game (except Sekiro if you count it as Souls) and all are amazing in their own way. I would say start with Bloodborne or the original Dark Souls. Edit: OR Demon's Souls on PS5 could be a good place to start. Don't be afraid to look stuff up if you are ever extremely lost or frustrated with any of these games. They are 100% worth seeing through, but they can be pretty obtuse at times in terms of mechanics or where exactly you need to go to advance the story.

rifain

Count me in.

omedallion

Nothing I've played since has been nearly as satisfying. Getting that platinum was almost euphoric.

Orbitor_ZEd

my man

AXone1814

Correct answer.

sophtot

Yes it’s a no-brainer. I plan to get back to it after Elden Ring.

OhThatNick

Vagrant Story, Chrono Cross, and Demon's Souls.

Dynast_King

You picking up the Chrono Cross remaster tomorrow? I'm excited to be able to play it again!

dimspace

Journey. Nothing else makes me feel the way that game does. And even after countless playthroughs there is still an utter joy in meeting another traveler and going to the summit with them No video game in a long long time playing games (my first computer was a Sinclair) has made me feel like journey does

Pro_Banana

Journey on PS4 is what made me decide to buy the console. It’s still one of my all time favorites. I know it’d be a waste of time and money, but I kinda want dualsense support for the game lol

GloriousDawn

I'm also an older gamer and i felt the same. Journey is an exhilarating experience that has everything a game can aspire to have: * original game mechanics * level design that isn't repetitive * innovative graphics (it's not much, but the sand rendering was something new on the PS3) * a compelling (though a bit cliché) storyline with a clever twist at the end * fantastic original music by Austin Wintory * beautiful art design overall Definitely the one that stands out when people ask if video games are a form of art.

wspartan

The Last of Us 1/2.

Aggressive-Battle769

That story brought gaming to a whole new level for me. What a story.

Felipesssku

Yeah, I didn't have occasion to play it on PS3 so remake was great experience. Best of what I've seen so far in game industry. At the same level if not better than "Alan Wake" if we talk about deep story driven games.

GrowYourOwnMonsters

Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil, GTA San Andreas, Fallout 3, Oblivion, Shadow of the Collosus, Sekiro, Elden Ring. There are probably a few I'm forgetting but it would be one of those.

I_Brain_You

Metal Gear Solid is a masterpiece.

GrowYourOwnMonsters

Absolutely blew my mind when it was released. One of the biggest leaps forward in console gaming. Definitely one of my fondest memories from the PS1

Lefrec

Ghost of tsushima without hesitation, this game did what it had to, didn't try to make too much and that's why everything is well done ( exept climbing system, climbing system sucks)

benjaminin5

I agreee with everything except what you said about climbing system, I don’t have much to compare it to except Jedi fallen order. That climbing system sucks.

silviulescu

Horizon

JohnApples1988

Horizon

Horizon

madfos

Onimusha trilogy and FFX

Professional_Ant1060

GoW 2018, loved the story, graphics, characters, and the change of pace, from the gory, violent games to a little bit peaceful and emotional voyage, seeing Kratos as a father was for me at first a little bit weird because we all learned he was a walking killing machine in Greece but as the game progressed, he grew in my eyes from a God Killer to just a loving, caring father who got a second chance of having a family and was ready to protect it against anyone who stood in his way

CosmikSpartan

I second this. Watching Kratos learn to be a father and show some emotion other that violence while killing everything in their path sold this game for me

_cmasterhart_

Oh cmon if were talking exclusives the top 3 are 100% 1. The Last of Us (1 and/or 2) 2. GoW 3. Bloodborne /Tied for 3. Spiderman PS4

FI5H5TICK5

That’s 4

tg92988

Klonoa

Teepee666

A person of culture I see.

Maxtrix07

Have you heard about the Remastered Klonoa games? Only announced about a month ago!

[deleted]

MAN, YOU SIMPLY MADE MY DAY WITH THIS!!!!!! Didn't knew about this collection, and it's comming next July! I got so hyped!

Lykosda

Oh man, Klonoa was so great. I played the PS1 game over and over again. Didn't spend as much time on Klonoa 2 though for some reason. The soundtrack will forever be a big part of my childhood.

Threespy

On all PlayStations, I’d have to say Final Fantasy 7 on PSX. Too many great memories playing it, my buddies were heavy into it as well so it was always a topic of discussion, the music, and this was my first encounter ever with an RPG game so it holds a special place with me.

Celebrimbor-

Was looking for this one. It will always be number 1 in my life

Moonoimartyn

Final fantasy X or Skyrim

ladyoftheridge

I replay ffx at least once a year It’s basically a comfort game at this point haha

Moonoimartyn

Ditto until the 200 lightning

ladyoftheridge

Oh yeah, despite having played it dozens of times over more than a decade I never did that one, or the chocobo trainer race. Losing out on lulu’s celestial weapon was meh, but not having caladbolg sucks bc Slice and dice has so much utility Once you have max stats it’s not as huge a deal but the dark aeons and penance were a bit annoying with only 5/7 weapons. You can make a knockoff with customization but the celestial weapons have a secret ability to ignore defense

jordantran13

I thought I couldn’t do it, so I asked my friend to come over to help who has impeccable timing in games. As I was showing her how to do it I went on a roll and ended up doing it right then and there!

mateojohnson11

Same!

BIG_BOSS_927

Does Skyrim count or just PS exclusives? I'd go for that myself though! I'm tempted to say the PS2 classic Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, but even though it was originally exclusive to PS2, has gotten many ports over the years.

Moonoimartyn

Any game I guess

unicorn_hipster

I've got so many fond memories of FFX. I remember watching my dad play it and following the story here and there until I was able to play it for myself. Hell, I remember my dad having to play through the beginning twice because of the memory card shortage. He bought an aftermarket memory card that required a boot disk to work so everything up to Kilika had to be redone! Skyrim was amazing but the fact that the DLCs came so much later than 360s because of the difficulty of the PS3 hardware architecture really soured it for me. Plus all the bugs and the fact that we still haven't escaped from from Skyrim releases a decade later.

ulyssesric

Persona 5 or me.

Iraknayr321

FOR REAL?

ulyssesric

Yes I counted in 200+ hour in P5 and I got Platinum in P5S. I'm Asian and my culture is related to the in game world, for both good and bad. On the other side, I abhor many of the western gamers' favorite genre. I never find it fun in any kind of sport games and racing games, Star War games, and DC/Marvel superhero games. And I've never watched any of the recent Marvel or DC or whatever hero movies either. The last time I watched superhero movie is Christopher Reeve's Superman 3 (1983). Yeah I'm old, and I'm still a gamer. But I'd never ask someone "FOR REAL" if he says his favorite game is Spider-Man.

thelimit10

“For real” is something Ryuji often says in Persona 5…..

itzahckrhet

SSX Tricky

henry_b

SSX 3

LurkysGoCart

Same.

dimspace

That would be my #2, so many hours spent on that game

Hurricane_Taylor

Grandia on ps1, I bought the rerelease on switch too. It’s not the most amazing jrpg, especially these days when there are so many options, but as a kid I would wake up at 5am to play it before school. I just had a lot of fun with it. The only game in recent years that had me waking up early to play it before the kids get up was Control, it’s not a ps exclusive (grandia wasn’t either), but it was a lot of fun, and challenging. I played it before they added difficulty options and it was so satisfying finally taking down a boss. I am playing it again on an easier difficulty now to get to the dlc though.

Burpkidz

That moment when you finally climb up to the “End of the World” is definitely one of the most epic moments in gaming history.

HubRumDub

Torn between Nier:Automata and Returnal

Prostorex28

Persona 5

BlowpipeSpecNeverHit

Uncharted series probably, mainly because every game was good. Some single release games are better imo but all the games combined id say uncharted

Ytrog

Horizon Zero Dawn

hawksfan82

The Horizon series for me, I can’t possibly separate them.

KarateChicka

I second that, I was so proud when I played through 100 percent on ultra hard. Now working on forbidden west. I get totally immersed into these games.

Interesting-Ship-189

Red Dead Redemption 2

Capt_PriceX

This game ruined other games for me

Blue_MJS

Yep.. I played Ghost Of Tsushima right after playing RDR2/TLOU2 & GOT just felt like a massive step down

B_Rian89

Same. Sony really messed up releasing GoT after TLOU2.

ExpoAve17

Such a great fucking game. I've never played their online either.

bibimoebaba

I think that's borderlands 2 for me.

Dreamy_Monk

GTA V Black- PS2 is a close second. .I'm a mediocre gamer when it comes to FPSs, perhaps why I still haven't managed to finish it after 15 years. Edit: am a mediocre gamer period.

PaddyRiku52

Ghost of Tsushima or Death Stranding

Spidey_22

Bloodborne or The Last of Us

ashervisalis

Why are you on Reddit when you should be out hunting?

Spidey_22

Man I have way to big of a backlog to go back to Bloodborne again :)

turtyurt

Either The Last of Us or The Last of Us 2

PROVINGSOMETHINGG

All the borderlands games especially the second one

geopap74

Extremly difficult to choose one game but i will go with Shadow of the colossus

RipleyHatesCornbread

Out of ALL of PlayStation over the years, I think if I had to pick one it would be Resident Evil 2 on PS1. It was a perfect sequel, and built on the original in every brilliant possible way. I loved it, and I loved the Remake too.

CapitalSpace9454

Days gone.

hijak_neo

The last of us 1 & 2

dubbodrongo

Yep, for sure! These 2 games for me had great combinations of gameplay & graphics but what caught me the most was the story and emotions it drew out of me. Not many games do that so well that it resonates with you so long after you’ve played them. Both in my Top 10 of all time.

Aggressive-Battle769

Well put. It was the story on top of the great gameplay

tacoprinz

Never been so obsessed with another game as with tlou

linkppp

Still my fav playstation game. Gameplay is good, story is superb, and the graphics is really good. And the fact that you can actually feel what the characters were supposed to feel is just wow

Lucas_Islas

Tlou 1 is defo top 10 for me

Left_Hegelian

I second this

Lykosda

I third it

Juicyjuggs77

I 4th it

AlTiSsS

I fifth this

PacwynTeam

I sixth this

ismaeelr

I 7th this

squeezin_cheese

I last this

ohoo_ma_man

I last this, the left behind.

Pumpernickel2

I last this, part two.

searchingformemes

The second part has such a great, ironic but also heartbreaking ending. (Spoiler) >! Ellie not being able to play the guitar, after chasing someone who has the same motive and determination as herself, fighting her and eventually realizing it’s useless, best god damn story telling i’ve ever seen.!<

scaredshtlessintx

My group of buddies play LoU2 multiplayer almost nightly, so much fun throwing a smoke then shiv

Ronathan64

Your buddies are from the future then How‘s the LoU2 MP?

scaredshtlessintx

Dammit, meant LOU 1

ohoo_ma_man

We found Neil Druckmann’s Reddit account.

scaredshtlessintx

Just keep it to yourself, ssshh

HUH_YIS

Huh?

Shaks17

Sly 2 Band of Thieves

Lower_Public_2466

Definitely Red Dead Redemption 2 or the Witcher 3

thursocuck

My favourite would have to be metal gear solid. It was so innovative when it came out in 98. Great wee things like you couldn’t beat mantis unless you took the controller out of port one and put in port two, to get the codex for merrly you are told it’s on the back of the cd case, for ages I looked all over for a cd case to realise it was on the back of the box the game came in. Great memories

nankerdarklighter

You know you are getting old, when FF VII isn’t the obvious top comment

Critical_Paper8447

The Last of Us 2..... Pretty much ruined 98% of games that I've played after it.

Kobra_Kodex

Crash Bandicoot

Yeafam7945

Damn.thats hard

OmegaOra

Prince of Persia 2: Warrior Within …. The Dahaka!! Dope game !

FullmetalJun

It's so rare finding a warrior within lover. Played it on almost every platform it was on. It really needs a remaster. Such perfection this game. The secret health upgrades were so fun & then it rewards you with the best sword when you found all of them

Moist_Wet_Socks

I hope they do a remake of this. I wish Ubisoft brought back games which weren't completely open world. PoP trilogy was amazing.

Tenpoiun

Xenogears

Burpkidz

FFVII, FFIX and Castlevania Symphony of the Night would be my top 3, I guess… Then Nier Automata, Catherine (the PS3 version) and 13 Sentinels.

Gandalfs_pipe

Bloodborne

Fa_r27_aD

God of war series, the last of us series

MugetsuTV

Persona 5 probably, but I think Persona 5 Royale is the better game.

2KareDogs

Uncharted 2

TioZer0

It felt so ahead of its time when it was released. Even when compared to the first game it feels like a whole gen above

MetalProfessor666

The Last of Us Part II

Elden-Cringe

Last Of Us, Horizon Zero Dawn, Spider-Man, Castlevania Lords of Shadow 1, Brothers A Tale of Two Sons. Can't decide a singular favorite out of them!

Sailorwing70

Yakuza 3

nesman1985

silent hill 1 or 2

try_to_be_nice_ok

Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy VII, or Bloodborne.

Western_Ad9334

Gta 4

Getitredditgood

OK I stopped single player gaming for around 4 years (2010-2014) and I've been a gamer all my life. The Last Of Us was recommended to me and I have to thank this game for getting me back into gaming. Was it not for this game I don't know when or if I would have played all the other single campaign games I have now. That being said I can only think of one game right now that I've sank so many hours into and still get excited to play daily. Elden Ring!

OverTheReminds

Surprised it hasn't been brought up yet, for me The Last of Us

Bright-Commercial818

Diablo3 and Borderlands 2

danielhoglan

I have few options, tlos, Bloodborne, now elden ring... But the first red dead redemption will always have a special place in my heart

FullmetalJun

God of War in general, but GoW 2018 is my most favourite game. Every time I play it, I'm just blown by how perfect it is. Bloodborne is also right there though.

Mediocre-General-654

I remember my first introduction to gow was on a PSP at school and it was amazing, loved the series ever since.

sheluvthewrld

gta 5 i have crazy nostalgia with this game. i bought multiple copies, a shirt. the los santos hat, posters, a massive book about it, apps about characters, console skins, changed my chrome picture to it, so on and so ob

Front_Advertising198

Unique_Specific_4169

Metal gear solid

camaroadam

Metal gear solid 1-4. 5 was ok but I really didn’t care that much for it I feel like metal gear solid was better linear.

Velocomackerel

PS1 - G Police, I absolutely adored that game.

RipleyHatesCornbread

God I wish they would do a new one. Loved that game, too.

DerBieso0341

I loved that helicopter one, nuclear assault on the ps1 ass well. You made me think of it

xileWabbit

I never owned it but a friend did and it was Marvel Vs Capcom 2. Idk if it was a playstation game (console exclusive?) but I loved it.

Ristar_Rizing

Fantastic fighter! It wasn't an exclusive.it was on PS2, XBOX, Sega Saturn, and Sega Dream cast, but it was a MARVEL (pun totally intended) for its time. It had such a huge cast that any playstyle had a character or two to flesh out their team in dynamic 3vs3 combat. It's now an expensive collector's rarity in physical copy, but you can buy it digitally to relive those happy memories.

David2006219

Horizon Zero Dawn and Forbidden West

shadow of the colossus is right up there for me.

Ghost of thsushima, and the legends mode. Cant say what i enjoy more. No downsides, in my opinion. Its amazing

TurkTurkle

rivieredefeu

Portal 2

oNeTwOtHrEeFoUr74

Destiny 1&2, Assassins Creed Odyssey & Horizon Forbidden West. All for different reasons. Don’t know why none of them have had a mention! Didn’t & still don’t rate Last of Us 1or2. GoW series was definitely decent but not a patch on the 3 I’ve mentioned.

Minecrafer2

Skyrim

Green__Emerald

God of war 3 remastered and Detroit become human. Can't decide which one is my favorite.

No_Zookeepergame5565

right now elden ting and tiny tinas wonderlands

No_Zookeepergame5565

however oblivion and skyrim hold a special place in my heart as well as the spyro and tomb raider series i grew up on those

50wishes

Dont make me pick between Kingdom hearts 1 and Silent Hill 2... both stories are bomb, kingdom hearts has better gameplay mechanics, but silent hill- the soundtrack!!!! The pure terror around every corner!!!!

TFSMHERO

Bloodborne and it’s THE number 1 out of every game I’ve ever played

Thefinalwerd

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater

Consistent-Ad-217

Infamous or Shadow of Mordor come to mind.

DarkUltron76

Ghost Of Tsushima

loleshemole

Black ops 1 for the zombies, Skyrim, or LBP2 all have a very special place in my heart 🥰

nicholasblaisedusky

Bloodborne> God of War > red dead redemption 2 > mw 2019 are my favorites of this generation ps4

lilsuccy678

I don’t know many people that agree with this but bloodborne is an absolute masterpiece

kosk11348

PS exclusive? Bloodborne or Ghost of Tsushima

Edpayasugo

Metal Gear Solid, and Bloodborne.

EdgyWeeb69

Bloodborne

Gagzu

Horizon Zero Dawn

rom_125

Bloodborne never played played a game more times than it.

MAFIAxMaverick

I really loved Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch on PS3. The first The Last of Us and Uncharted 4 are definitely up there too. I've probably poured the most time into Final Fantasy X over the years. But for me....Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts 2 on my PS2. Those came out when I was in middle school, which were a very rough few years for me.

Local_Mensa

Persona 5 Royal easy
