Used to be my favorite Radiohead song before I became a “true” fan lol. I love how it gets energetic and slows down over and over again. Definitely my go to “rock song” from the band.
Good summary. My favourite mini fact is that Jonny does a weird noise with his first right in the last 10 seconds, and I saw a YouTube video recently about how a company had built an FX pedal and selling it as the "There There" pedal, just to get that one crazy sound.
But seriously, the build up is amazing. "Why so green and lonely" with the bell- like chiming guitar is so exciting somehow

Used to be my favorite song on that record, but overtime I realized how repetitive the piano is. Still a great song but a little too repetitive is all.
Rate: 9
The vibes on this song are fucking IMMACULATE. Fun fact: the first time I showed my ex-girlfriend the song she said “this sounds like two songs are playing at once. Turn it the fuck off.”
Rate: 8.5
Whenever I listen to that song, I’m usually listening to the album as a whole. So it sounds sort of out of place compared to the rest of the album. But obviously still a great song with a nice bassline.
Rate: 8.5
I always dismiss this song as one of their “popular mainstream” songs until I actually listen to it and realize it’s so damn good. Same thing with no surprises.
Rate: 9
The lyrics are so sad. This song is so sad. For a long time I disregarded it since it’s sort of a mainstream Radiohead song, but I recently learned it on piano, and fell in love with it again.
I feel like now there are Layers to being mainstream. As a younger person they really aren’t what I’d consider mainstream. Less people I talk to music about (around my age) know anything about them other than maybe the name Radiohead and maybe creep. BUT with people who really listen to music and people out of my generation, everyone seems to know of them and the majority of that group at least a couple songs. Idk they’re in a mainstream limbo nowadays. At least in my opinion
Rate: 8
I don’t know why, but this song makes me so sad.
The music itself is pretty upbeat, but something about it being the last song on the album makes a depressing lol.
Actually, I think it's quite hopeful. "Finally I'm freed of all the weight I've been carrying". It has gotten me out of some dark places, so maybe I'm a bit biased heh
Rate: 8.5
One of my favorites on amnesiac. The guitar is so ominous and almost creepy sounding. Its hard to explain. Its like too “happy” sounding to the point where its uncanny.
Rate: 8
I watched an episode of dexter and this song came on and for some reason it made me love it a lot more, I used to not like it. Love the lyrics the most
My Iron Lung
Rate: 7
Unfortunately I feel like lots of songs on that album sound like eachother and I get this one confused alot. Its not bad, I just prefer their later stuff.
Not OP but I am giving this song a 9.5
Was a perfect 10 until I was listening to it while driving and the sirens at the end covered up the sound of an actual firetruck speeding passed me and I almost got in a crash
Rate: 9.5
Sets up the album perfectly. Lets the listener known its gonna be a weird one. Love how the whole song sounds sort of off beat, but they make it work so well
and Lurgee I love the slow lingering drum and pace it’s so hazy 90’s something just feels nostalgia about it. I actually really love Thom’a Voice here. It doesn’t ever really sound like this again.
The Numbers
Especially if it’s the live performance where it’s just Thom and Jonny, I get chills every time I listen to it. They do Present Tense and that performance is for if you want to cry haha
How To Disappear Completely
Rate: 10 Obviously one of radioheads best songs. So hauntingly beautiful.
